Jonathan (Jay) Lanstein
Managing Partner | Financial Advisor

Jay is a dedicated Financial Advisor and Managing Partner with over two decades of experience helping clients build, preserve, and transition wealth. Known for his strategic insight and deep understanding of financial markets, Jay leads a growing wealth management team committed to delivering thoughtful, goals-based advice tailored to each client's unique situation.
Jay began his career at Cantella & Co., Inc., as an intern in the Operations Department. Before long, he was designing and implementing technology to provide more efficient and responsive service for the firm's clients, advisors, and employees. He quickly rose through leadership roles, ultimately serving as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Information Officer of the broker/dealer and SEC-registered Investment Advisor for more than 10 years.
In 2011, Jay also co-chaired an effort to re-engineer the firm's entire financial reporting systems, partnering with Bill McEvoy to automate account reconciliations, net capital computations, and integrate with commissions and advisory fee processing systems.
In 2014, Jay was elected by peers to FINRA's District 11 Committee, where he completed a three-year term advocating for mid-size firms at the national level. He continues to serve the industry as a FINRA arbitration expert witness.
Jay's leadership experience at the enterprise level informs his work with clients—ensuring every plan is not only well-structured but also backed by operational and regulatory precision.
Jay holds FINRA Series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 27, 53, 55, 63, 65, 87 and 99 licenses and Massachusetts Life, Health and Variable insurance licenses. Jay also holds non-resident insurance producer licenses in many other states where he serves clients.
As a practicing advisor, Jay works closely with a wide variety of clients. On the retail side, he works with individuals, families, and business owners on retirement planning, tax-efficient investing, estate strategies, and navigating major life transitions. On the institutional side, he works with municipalities, banks and credit unions to manage cash flows, navigate applicable investment statutes, and ensure the Treasurers understand the investments they hold. He is particularly valued for his ability to distill complex financial matters into clear, actionable guidance.
Jay lives in South Boston with his wife, Becca, and their three children—Declan, Owen, and Brooke. Outside of his advisory work, he enjoys real estate development and holds licenses as a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor, Home Improvement Contractor, and Hoisting Engineer (heavy equipment operator).
